‘90s Supermodel Claudia Schiffer Shows off Bikini Body at…
Claudia Schiffer showed off her bikini body in a slideshow of social media photos to celebrate her 55th birthday. The former supermodel displayed the shape that made her infamous during the 1990s alongside Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, and Christy Turlington.
Schiffer took to Instagram to celebrate a life well lived by posting six images of how she spent her birthday, writing, “55 today, so lucky to have a happy and healthy birthday!!” But perhaps the most stunning were photos of her wearing a white bathing suit, flaunting her still fabulous figure.
She was one of the world’s top supermodels, a visible representation of the decade as the face of Guess Jeans, Revlon fragrances, Versace, L’Oréal, Schwarzkopf, and Pepsi. Schiffer and her fellow supermodels were nicknamed “The Big Five” or “The Big Six” depending on which supermodels moved in and out of the core group.
The model and businesswoman reflected on that extraordinary time in her life to The New York Post in a 2021 interview. “It was an extraordinary period,” Schiffer said of being one of the world’s top supermodels. “There was an incredible merging of … fashion, music, art and entertainment that made the era dynamic, exciting. The impossible became possible.”
The model discussed when she realized that her work had become part of the wider American culture. “I remember flying around the US to every major city for signings in department stores,” Schiffer recalled of her first Guess campaign tour. “I returned to my apartment in New York near Central Park, and one morning, sleepy-eyed with bed-head hair, I was in the elevator when a person entered and asked, ‘Are you the Guess girl?’ I knew then my life had changed forever.”
Per The New York Times, Schiffer would go on to become the highest-paid model in the world in 1992 after signing a $6 million annual contract with Revlon. Schiffer commanded high fees, earning $20,000 per runway show in the early 90s. She remains active in the modeling field, walking in the 2023 Versace show and appearing in a 2025 Balenciaga ad campaign.
