Anne Hathaway & Meryl Streep’s Designer Heels on Devil Wears Prada Set

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep brought distinct heel philosophies to the set of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in New York on Thursday in Prada pumps and Jacquemus slingbacks.

Hathaway, reprising her role as Andy Sachs, wore the Prada Modellerie spiked leather pump in optic white. The sharply pointed silhouette features a V-cut vamp, flared kitten heel and exaggerated spike details at the vamp and heel counter.

At just over two inches, the low-profile heel adds shape without dominance, while the clean brushed leather and tonal outsole echo Prada’s Modellerie line, known for its construction-forward minimalism. A small logo marks the lateral side.

Streep opted for a sculptural style from Jacquemus: the Cubisto slingback in high-gloss red leather. The silhouette features a sharply tapered toe and curved vamp, anchored by a geometric heel that blends a rounded contour with a squared-off base. A tonal leather bow softens the upper, while the 10cm stiletto height reinforces the shoe’s commanding profile — a fitting match for Miranda Priestly’s on-screen edge.

Hathaway paired the Modellerie pumps with wide-leg white trousers and an oversized white top, styled with a crystal statement necklace and a large black leather satchel. The pumps themselves looked slightly large — a heel gap just visible — as if Andy, nearly two decades later, still isn’t quite sure she belongs in the room. It’s a subtle miss, but one that feels on character: a woman who’s learned how to walk in designer shoes, even if they don’t always fit perfectly.

Streep’s Cubistos were styled with cropped navy trousers, a ribbed ivory blouse and a long stone trench coat — a layered, warm-toned combination that allowed the bright red heels to dominate the frame. Gold dome earrings, oversized sunglasses and a slim wristwatch completed the look.

The shoes help chart each character’s evolution. Hathaway’s pumps build on the grounded logic of her quilted Chanel slides earlier this week — a progression that reads more calculated than comfortable. The silhouette is confident, the spikes are clever, but the heel gap says what Andy won’t: some part of her still feels like she’s trying to fit in. Streep’s continued commitment to sculptural precision — from last week’s archival Gucci platforms to today’s Cubistos — is less about adapting and more about staying power.

With Patricia Field back in the styling chair, every shoe earns its moment on screen. Hathaway’s pair suggests someone still negotiating her place. Streep’s heels belong to a woman who’s already made her mark — and has no plans to move.
