Billie Eilish Says She Feels ‘Seen’ Around Fans Who Look …

At a recent concert, Billie Eilish said she appreciated being in the company of people who look “exactly” like her.
The singer made the comment during at her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour at Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday (July 26). During a talk break, she briefly spoke to the crowd about her Irish ancestry and how she loves seeing people that share her features.
“As you guys know, I’m Irish, so it’s cool to be here,” the 23-year-old told the crowd, as seen in the video above. “Obviously, I am not from here, but it’s really cool to come somewhere and, like, everybody looks exactly like you, and you’re all just as pasty as me, I love it.”
She continued, “Seriously though, it’s so amazing. It just makes me feel so seen … Also, like, a thousand of my relatives are in the crowd right now, I’m pretty sure. Thank you for coming. Thank you for having me here. I love it here. It’s so beautiful and you are all so beautiful and I see so many familiar faces out there.”
This isn’t the first time Eilish has spoken about her Irish heritage. Before playing her first show in Ireland, she told Today FM earlier this month that she grew up being told she was Irish and Scottish, but didn’t feel a real connection to it until visiting Ireland — an experience she called “really cool.”
Of course, people on the internet made it known that it felt strange to hear her say such a thing, while others defended her. Read some of the reactions below.
