Dave Blunts Says Kanye West Is ‘Doing Better Now’ After A…

Dave Blunts has shared that he believes Kanye West is “doing better” now that he’s no longer posting antisemitic remarks online.

The 24-year-old rapper and singer sat down with DJ Vlad for an interview this week where he suggested that the artist now known as Ye has turned a new leaf.

“That shit was like a blur and I was getting lost in the character,” Blunts said 20 seconds into the video linked above. “For me, it was a character because I was, like, being him.

“Obviously, he’s not a character, but … the n***a — he shared his gripes on Twitter, you know? So all the gripes that he had is out there, all those tweets. He would tell me these things before he would tweet them.”

He added: “I do know now that he’s not on that anymore and he’s, you know, doing better now.”

Blunts, who has been collaborating on new music with West as of late, also said he can’t recall if the rapper showed up to the studio with swastika clothing or chains.

“I can’t really remember. Like I said, I was just focused on the music and, you know, the stories that he was telling me,” he said.

DJ Vlad pressed further, asking Blunts to clarify if Ye’s antisemitic rhetoric are a reflection of how he “truly feels” before asking if the offensive messages were “performance art to a certain degree?”

“That is what good art does, it leaves you to make questions,” Blunts responded. “It leaves questions, you know what I’m saying? A good Christopher Nolan film, there’s a fucking ending that leaves you, ‘Oh, is that real? There’s a spinning top. Is this all a dream?’ You know what I’m saying? That’s what good art does.”

Despite tweeting “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi” and being embroiled in countless antisemitic controversies for the past three years, Ye tweeted that he was “done with antisemitism” in May.

“I love all people,” he wrote at the time in a separate post. “God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused.”
