Gilbert Arenas very much appears to be in good spirits following his arrest in connection with allegations of high-stakes illegal poker games.
In a video shared to Instagram and X Wednesday night, Arenas is seen dancing his way down a set of stairs, all while telling the camera, “Can’t hold me, baby. They can’t hold me.”
Both updates were captioned, in part, “this ain’t got shyt to do with me.”
As previously reported, the three-time NBA All-Star and Gil’s Arena host was accused in a federal indictment alongside five other defendants of operating illegal high-stakes poker games. Charges against Arenas include conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, operating an illegal gambling business, and making false statements to federal investigators. Each count carries a maximum possible sentence of five years.
“Arenas rented out an Encino mansion he owned for the purpose of hosting high-stakes illegal poker games,” prosecutors said in a press release issued Wednesday. “At Arenas’ direction, Arthur Kats, 51, of West Hollywood, staged the mansion to host the games, found co-conspirators to host the games, and collected rent from the co-conspirators on Arenas’ behalf.”
Per a report from the Associated Press, Arenas, who pleaded not guilty to the charges in Los Angeles court on Wednesday, has since been released on $50,000 bond.
