Mariah the Scientist Wants Young Thug to Tattoo Her Name …
Mariah the Scientist has never shied away from expressing her love for Young Thug, and now, she has an idea for some skin-deep commitment in return.
TMZ Hip Hop recently caught up with the R&B singer as she linked up with Kali Uchis to shoot content for their new collab “Is It a Crime,” just ahead of the release of her upcoming album Hearts Sold Separately. During the interview, Mariah was asked about her YSL beau and whether she’d want him to get a specific tattoo to honor their love. They already have matching spider tattoos, but that’s not quite enough for her.
Mariah revealed one tattoo she’d like Young Thug to is a massive piece of her name on his back, just like Nick Cannon did for Mariah Carey back in 2008 when they were newly married.
“I would make him get Nick Cannon’s tattoo of Mariah Carey’s name on his back. That big ass tattoo he had. I would make him get that,” she said in laughter.
Nick Cannon famously had “Mariah” inked across his shoulder blades in large cursive lettering following his 2008 wedding to the pop icon. The pair later divorced, and Cannon eventually covered the tattoo up with a religious-themed piece.
As for Mariah the Scientist and Young Thug, their bond appears stronger than ever. In 2023, Mariah said she wanted to marry Young Thug, and he feels the same. During a visit with the Baller Alert Show, Mariah said she didn’t want to have a “jail wedding” as Thugger was dealing with the YSL RICO trial at the time, but she sees them tying the knot in the future.
“I feel like he definitely wants to be married, and I feel like I do too,” she said. In a conversation with Complex, Mariah reflected on how proud she is to be with Thug and how strong their bond is.
“It’s like I have something where I’m very proud to have him,” she explained. “We have a really good balance. We just do, and I just feel like people don’t understand, but it’s really not for them to understand. But what I will say is that’s not gonna stop me from doing me.”
