Shannon Sharpe Warned About Younger Women by ‘Club Shay S…

Shannon Sharpe was fired from ESPN this past week amid settling a sexual assault lawsuit, and fans are now recounting the times he was told to avoid dating younger women by past Club Shay Shay guests.
Last month, the podcaster and NFL Hall of Famer came to a “mutually agreed‑upon resolution” with attorney Tony Buzbee and plaintiff, Gabriella Zuniga, who accused Sharpe of assault, sexual assault, battery and sexual battery during a “long‑term consensual and tumultuous relationship.”
Sharpe, 57, has maintained that the lawsuit was a “shakedown,” accusing Buzbee of racial targeting, while Zuniga, who’s in her 20s, has retired from making OnlyFans content after reaching a settlement.
Some Club Shay Shay fans believe that the incident could have been avoided if Sharpe took heed of clear warnings given by guests like Mo’Nique, Lil Yachty and Katt Williams, the latter of whom gave the podcast its most-watched episode.
This week, users on X, formerly Twitter, called the group “prophets,” although Sharpe laughed off their suggestions to date women closer to his age.
In a Club Shay Shay episode from last February, Mo’Nique told Sharpe that he needed an “old fat gal” instead of a “26-year-old girl” or “36-year-old girl.”
“I do!” Sharpe asserted.
“This is your auntie talking to you,” the actor and comedian continued. “Take your old ass and get you an old bitch that can love you old. You’re trying to hang out with these young bitches and you can’t do it, Shannon. You just can’t do it!”
Also last year, Williams confessed that he was “scared” of white women, citing Jonathan Majors, who was convicted of misdemeanor assault in 2024 after his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accused him of abuse.
“I have a reason to be scared. You can be Kang the Conqueror and they can take your rabid ass down in two weekends. And that’s the truth of the matter,” Williams told Sharpe.
During their episode in January, Yachty was more straightforward, telling Sharpe that he likes the “same age girls” as him.
“I’m getting old, but my eyesight’s still young,” Sharpe insisted.
“Right, okay, and with that, you’ve gotta uphold a certain way because you can be old and sloppy,” the rapper replied.
Other past Club Shay Shay visitors that have been name-dropped in the discussion included Kirk Franklin, Damon Wayans Sr. and Sherri Shepherd, all who’ve discussed dating with Sharpe.
