Sabrina Carpenter Brings Out Earth, Wind & Fire at Lollap…

Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday boasted a surprise appearance from Earth, Wind & Fire.

“Does anyone wanna dance tonight?” the Man’s Best Friend artist asked the crowd before introducing Chicago’s own. “I have this idea. Let’s see how you feel about it. I guess I just thought it would be really, really fun if I could bring out some friends for you guys and we can just let loose, right? We can just groove. So I thought, why not bring out my friends from Chicago?”

Fittingly, the Grammy-winning group then joined Carpenter for their 1981 Raise! single “Let’s Groove.” As a follow-up, Carpenter and the band performed another Hot 100 hit, 1978’s “September.”

Sabrina isn’t the only Lolla headliner to have surprised fans with a top-tier special guest during their set. As previously reported, Olivia Rodrigo, whose GUTS era has now seemingly come to a close, tapped into the wide world of Weez by bringing out Rivers Cuomo and company.

Next for Sabrina is a new album, Man’s Best Friend, out later this month. The album comes just over a year after her blockbuster sixth full-length Short n’ Sweet, which took home the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in February, besting albums from Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan in the process.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
