Summer Walker Is Not Here for Body Shamers: ‘Block Me or …

Summer Walker addressed critics head-on via Instagram Stories on Sunday, August 3, making it clear she won’t entertain commentary about her appearance.

The stories, which Hollywood Unlocked captured, show the singer taking full ownership of everything involving her body, from her sexuality on down.

“I LOVE my body with a fiery, burning passion,” she wrote, before adding, “Please get over it. I’m not changing or reducing anything. I don’t know why it would bother you if we’re not intimate and you don’t even know me in real life. But, please block me if it offends you, or keep scrolling. I don’t invest time and energy into people I don’t like, why should you?”

Walker has been open about her cosmetic journey over the years. Back in March 2021, she shared a before-and-after image referencing “a** shots,” captioning it, “I dead can’t believe I was this skinny. Lmao. Thank God for a** shots.”

The transparency continued through different chapters of her life, including motherhood. In November 2022, after becoming pregnant, she reflected on the impact on her body, noting on her private Instagram account that she was frustrated to have “just got my body done last year” and felt she might “have to get it all redone” due to changes like sagging and stretch marks.

Public reaction to Walker’s evolving look has fluctuated, but she has also received support from her peers.

In August 2023, Asian Doll publicly defended Walker after a viral performance clip sparked renewed online scrutiny, calling out what she viewed as unfair standards and reminding fans that weight and appearance can fluctuate for many reasons, including mental health issues.
