Florida Man Married to Three Women Faces Probation for Fe…

A Florida man has been sentenced to two years of probation after he was convicted of felony bigamy for being married to three women at the same time.

ABC Action News reports that Henry Betsey Jr. previously pleaded guilty to bigamy after one of his wives found out he was still married to two other women.

The three women—Michele, Brandy, and Tonya— reportedly met Betsey on dating websites and married him over a 2-year period. The women said he never attempted to divorce or annul his marriages before walking down the aisle again.

All three women are from three different Florida counties. Last year, Tonya discovered Betsey was married to Michele and Brandy, even though no database exists that can compare marriage licenses between Florida counties. Tonya then reached out to the other women.

“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the ladies and I want to apologize to the court administration and to my family and friends that had to be involved in this,” Betsey said at his hearing. “Because ultimately this is something that I didn’t wish to be part of.”

The judge credited his time spent in jail as eight days served. Betsey will also have to complete a mental health evaluation and a certified battery intervention program, and he was ordered to stay away from social media and dating websites. The judge said he can have no contact with his three ex-wives.

Betsey was also recently arrested for assault and battery of a family or household member in connection with an incident in Virginia in late June.
