Anthony Edwards’ Ex Demands $500K & Apology In Messy Lega…
A new filing in Los Angeles Superior Court outlines the latest development in Anthony Edwards’ ongoing legal battle with Ayesha Howard, the influencer who was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their daughter, Aubri, born in October 2024.
According to the motion filed on Wednesday, August 6, and obtained by Us Weekly, Edwards, 24, states that the parties were instructed on May 20 to reduce the custody ruling to a written agreement; however, the paperwork has not been signed.
Edwards’ side contends the holdup began when an early draft included a non-disparagement clause and a restriction on posting the child’s photos—terms Howard says she never agreed to. Edwards’ team says those provisions were later removed, but the agreement stalled again after what Edwards characterizes as new demands.
Per the filing, Edwards alleges Howard, 38, is now seeking a public apology posted “on all of his official social media platforms,” retracting “false and defamatory or misleading statements” and “affirming her integrity and her role as a mother,” as well as $500,000 in damages. He also says his legal costs continue to mount while the agreement remains unsigned.
Howard disputed the characterization in a statement to Us Weekly: “I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders. I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”
The custody case has unfolded amid a jurisdictional back-and-forth. After Howard filed in California and Edwards pursued related proceedings in Georgia, a California judge ruled in March 2025 that child support would not be set in California; Howard has appealed.
Court records also state Edwards isn’t seeking legal or physical custody or visitation of Aubri at this time. At a May 19 hearing, Howard said Edwards had never met the child.
This matter arrives amid other personal-life headlines for Anthony Edwards. He and longtime girlfriend Shannon Jackson welcomed a daughter, Aislynn, in March, and Edwards has faced additional paternity and custody claims involving other women—issues that remain separate from the current case with Howard.
