Jennifer Aniston Reflects on ‘Friends’, ‘One of the Highl…

Jennifer Aniston is unarguably among some of the most notable actresses of this age, with starring roles in Along Came Polly, The Morning Show, We’re The Millers, and The Break-Up. However, the role that she is most known for is, of course, Rachel Greene on the smash hit series Friends.

It’s been more than 20 years now since the show concluded after 10 incredibly popular seasons. However, Aniston still thinks back on those days incredibly fondly.

The actress recently sat down with Vanity Fair to watch snippets from some of her past works, including several snippets from Friends. She laughed while recalling a particularly famous scene in which her character prepares a traditional English trifle for the group but mixes up the ingredients.

“Oh, this is one of the greatest times. I love it. This is the gift that keeps on giving. This is really one of the highlights of my life. It sort of set the tone for not only getting to work with an incredible group of people who became my true family, it was… just brought so much joy to people, which was something that just doesn’t always happen. Sort of like lightning in a bottle,” Aniston said of the show.

The actress noted that she and the cast have thought about what it would be like to somehow return to the days of filming Friends, but acknowledged that it would never work.

“On many, many levels, that was incredibly creatively satisfying. We always fantasize about what it would be like to kind of go back in time, but it just…it would never be the same,” she continued.

One of the many reasons it would not ever be the same is because of the passing of Aniston’s beloved co-star, Matthew Perry. Perry died at the age of 54 at his home in Los Angeles in October of 2023.
