Sophie Turner Says She Caused a Celeb Couple to Break Off…

A simple wave from Sophie Turner led to the demise of a celebrity couple’s engagement.

The Game of Thrones actress shared the story with Seth Meyers, explaining that during a San Diego Comic Con after party held during the early seasons of GoT, things “went really south, really quick” and ended in a breakup.

“We were gonna have a great night,” the actress said. “I really can’t name names or I’ll get in a lot of trouble, but I brought my best friend from my school days with me, and she saw this actor that she loved.”

Since the after-party honored the HBO series, Turner’s friend asked her to say hi to the actor.

“I didn’t know this actor,” Turner admitted, so, instead, she waved. “Later on, I see this girl looking at me, and she’s a famous actress. I was like, ‘Oh, I have to go and tell her how much she means to me.'”

“So, I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop fucking flirting with my fiancé?'” the 29-year-old remembered. “I think they broke their engagement off that night because of my wave.”

She joked, “I didn’t realize I held this power.”

Turner also touched on working with her GoT co-star, Kit Harington, on the new horror film, The Dreadful. In GoT, Harington and Turner’s characters are related, with the former playing Jon Snow and the latter, Sansa Stark.

“I sent the script to Kit and he sent me a message back going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph,'” she said. “I was like, ‘What is he talking about?’ I was reading it and I’m like ‘kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother.’

However, not wanting to pass up on the opportunity, they bit the bullet.

“So, we put it out of our minds, and then we get on set and it’s the first kissing scene and we are both retching,” she said. “Really, it is vile. It was the worst.”

She quipped, “Another really bad moment in my career.”
