Black Scottish People React to Americans Just Finding Out…

Black Scottish creators are going viral on TikTok, all thanks to Americans who are fascinated to know they exist.
This week, viewers on the video sharing platform have been amused and intrigued to learn about the Black diaspora in Scotland who were born and raised there.
One of the more popular figures, Torgi Squire, also known as starboysobersfitness on TikTok, gained notoriety after a video of him complaining about Scottish weather went viral. His uncanny resemblance to Sterling K. Brown has also helped him stand out.
In a TikTok with nearly 4 million views, Squire shared the love he’s received from the U.S. “has been crazy” and answered some of the most frequently asked questions he’s received since becoming an overnight TikTok star.
“Yes, I am Black. Yes, I am Scottish. I am not Sassenach, I am not Irish, I am not Welsh. 43 years born and raised in Scotland, 100% Scotch beef right here,” Squire said with a laugh in the video linked above. “Anyway, I’m not sure how this got to America, me complaining about the weather, but welcome!”
Brown’s wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, even made a joke about it on Threads, writing, “My husband has been speaking with a Scottish brogue all day. Send help and a kilt please.”
Here are some of the best reactions — and the Black Scottish TikTok creators going viral.
