Watch Maury Povich Point Out Wife Connie Chung Slept With…

In a resurfaced clip from the debut episode of Maury Povich’s podcast, On Par With Maury Povich, the former talk show host jokingly called out his wife, Connie Chung, for having a fling with actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty.

Chung appeared alongside her husband, whom she married in 1984, for the debut episode of On Par when it dropped back in March. But recently, a clip from the episode has resurfaced and gone viral on social media, with a lot of people immediately taken by Povich’s directness in airing out his long-time wife’s romantic history.

Recounting her career as a journalist and news anchor, Povich said that Chung “became a big star” when she moved out to California. “You became a big star… and you kind of messed around with stars,” he said, to which she said, “Oh, you didn’t?” He laughed, “No, I didn’t mess around with stars.” She insisted that he could “name a few,” but he maintained he never “messed around” with any stars despite knowing many of them.

“You messed around them,” he continued, before not-so-subtly name-dropping an example. “Warren Beatty,” he said. “You know what my sister said about Warren Beatty? Every woman who came to California had to go through him. It was like an immigration system.” She laughed, “Pretty good line, huh?”

She said that Beatty “loved women journalists,” and then he said that she also “messed around with an eagle,” but specified he didn’t Philadelphia Eagles, but the rock band, the Eagles. She remarked that she wasn’t aware that the unspecified Eagles member was in a band when she first started seeing him, and she asked him to play a song. “He started to play ‘Hotel California,’ and I went, ‘Whoa, I know that song,” she laughed.

Later in the podcast, Povich clarified that he and Chung were dating around that time but they weren’t exclusive. “You couldn’t even remember the first names, let alone the last names of the women that you were with,” she replied. “I mean, you had to chew off your arm. You know, it’s the old coyote issue.”

Maury Povich built a career with his eponymous show that often dealt with issues with relationships, famously featuring paternity tests to determine if someone is a father or not. It’s nice to see that he’s not afraid to air out his own dirty laundry, too.
