Anne Hathaway got up gracefully after taking a nasty fall in New York City this week.

Backgrid USA captured the actress walking out of a building when she accidentally tripped and landed on the stairs while her legs were uncomfortably bent. According to People, the fall was due to a broken heel on her shoe.

As she stumbled, two men rushed to Hathaway’s aid. But before they could reach the actress, she immediately stood up and said, “She’s fine,” to cheers from spectators.

The moment reminded at least one Instagram commenter of one of Hathaway’s earlier roles, as the person wrote, “This is so Princess Diaries coded.”

Another person admonished Backgrid, writing, “She could have easily broken her leg. Was this video necessary to post ??”

The fall was the second time Hathaway was nearly injured this week alone, as another video from Wednesday (Aug. 27) shows her almost being run over by a bicyclist. Although the actress stopped in time, she was briefly unsettled before continuing her walk to join the rest of the film crew.

Hathaway later laughed off the incident in a TikTok on Thursday (Aug. 28) with a Princess Diaries scene.

“Twenty years later, still falling for you…” the actress captioned the video showing her falling on bleachers in the 2001 movie before switching over to her recent spill.

“Witness the queen herself take a tumble like a champ,” the video’s text read.

Over the summer, New Yorkers have gotten a close-up of The Devil Wears Prada 2 shoot and spotted fellow actors Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt, and more reprising their iconic roles.

But like the 2023 movie Barbie, the public shoot has somewhat spoiled the upcoming movie, as cameos have also been revealed.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated for release in May 2026.
