Fat Joe and DJ Khaled Pull Up to Hot 97 for DJ Enuff’s La…

Hot 97 closed out an era this week when longtime staple DJ Enuff hosted his final show, and Fat Joe and DJ Khaled made sure to be there in person.

Joe told TMZ he was in “complete disbelief” when his phone started blowing up with news that Enuff had been fired from the station. He says he immediately decided to head down to Hot 97, and brought Khaled to show support.

“It’s sad,” said Joe. “It’s actually sad. I don’t know the politics of it, but the man been on here since 98.7 KISS. So he’s been on Hot 97 for 27 years. You know, yesterday we heard fake news that Flex was leaving, too,” said Joe, referring to Flex’s recent intentionally confusing announcement, about which more below. “I don’t know what’s going on.”

Joe reiterated that he had no idea what was happening at the station and that he had gotten a call from DJ Camilo saying Enuff was hosting his last show on Friday. DJ Khaled joined Joe at the station before heading back to his car to take a call.

Funk Flex shocked the hip-hop world when he announced he would host his last shift at the 7 p.m. to midnight slot on September 1. Some people reading Flex’s post mistakenly thought that meant Flex was retiring from the station altogether — an impression helped along by Flex’s (possibly intentionally) confusing wording. Instead, his show is apparently just changing times. Sources told TMZ that Flex will be moving to the 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. slot following Labor Day weekend.

TMZ also reported that Nessa Nitty will take over the 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. slot, and the Ebro in the Morning show will move to 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
