SoleFly Air Jordan 3 IF4491-100 Release Date

The Miami Hurricanes opened their season Sunday night with a splash by defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in their first win over a top 10 opponent in eight years. As all eyes in the college football world were on the game, SoleFly took the occasion to debut an Air Jordan 3 collaboration taking after the university.

The SoleFly x Air Jordan 3 was worn by the sneaker boutique cofounders Carlos Prieto and Daniel Hidalgo, and they also laced up Hurricane alumni and Pro Football Hall of Famers Ed Reed, Andre Johnson and Edgerrin James.

Most of the shoe is rendered in white, but it carries accents in the U’s colors of orange and green. The Air Jordan 3’s signature elephant is replaced by suede paneling in the two shades, green for the toe tip and orange for the heel counter. Green is then used for the heel stabilizer beneath, as well as the mustache’s Nike Air logo and the Jumpman on the tongue. An off-white midsole differs slightly from the white leather upper, and the outsole brings another pop of orange. The upper and lower eyelets also appear in green and orange, respectively.

Based on the various images shared from people on the field, there doesn’t appear to be any external SoleFly branding on the sneaker. The boutique’s logo does appear on the hangtag, however. Because the University of Miami is an Adidas school, you won’t see any of its own branding or any official involvement from the school.

SoleFly last collaborated with Jordan brand last year on an Air Jordan 12 inspired by Cuban coffee, and it previously took on the Air Jordan 1 High and Low, Air Jordan 8, Air Jordan 10, Air Jordan 13 and Air Jordan 17. The forthcoming sneaker marks the Miami boutique’s second Air Jordan 3, as it did up a pair in 2014, and SoleFly has once used Hurricane colors on the Jordan Spizike back in 2012.

The SoleFly x Air Jordan 3 is expected to release during the upcoming holiday season, likely through the Boutique’s channels and the Snkrs app. Pricing is set at $225.
