Jim Jones Pokes Fun at Fabolous’ Pronunciation of ‘Lineag…

Jim Jones put on his spelling bee hat to correct Fabolous on the pronunciation of “lineage.”
On the second episode of podcast A2A (Artist to Artist), which premiered Sunday (August 31), the group, including Dave East and Maino, discussed differences between white and Black families, including lessons they’ll teach their children around finances.
“Privilege and white privilege is different, bro,” Fab began at around the 43 minute mark.
“Even how we talking about privileging our sons — we didn’t have privileges before us,” he continued. “They [white kids] come from that lineage of that.”
Jim briefly looked at Fabolous quizzically while the rapper continued to pronounce the word like ‘line-ige,’ not ‘lin-e-ige.’
“They come from a lineage of ‘We own this house.’ We didn’t come from it. All of us in here [are from] a housing project,” Fab continued.
While East jumped in to speak, Capo interjected, “‘Lineage,’ too, that’s how you say that word.”
This caught Fab off guard, as the rapper asked, “What I say?” The group was confused for a moment, as they seemed to be having cross discussions, but Jim laughed and reiterated what he previously said.
“The word was ‘lineage,'” Jim said, to which Maino and Fab asked what was said. “Like ‘linebacker’ or something like that,” the Diplomats member joked.
“That’s crazy. I’ll walk off this podcast right now,” Fab replied, before the crew were in stitches again.
The misstep may have been Fab’s karma after the rappers laughed at Jim’s introduction earlier in the episode. Capo was more soft-spoken than usual when kicking off the show, which led Maino and Fab to make fun of his “podcast voice.”
