Origins’ Adds Ghost and Tommy Actors to the All-S…

Starz has officially revealed additional leads for its highly anticipated prequel series Power: Origins.

Deadline reports that Spence Moore II (Creed III, Brilliant Minds) will step into the role of young James St. Patrick, better known as Ghost, while Charlie Mann (The Watchers, Virdee) will portray his right-hand man, Tommy Egan.

Both characters, originally brought to life by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in the flagship Power series, are central to the franchise’s legacy. Power: Origins will trace Ghost and Tommy’s early days in New York City, where their ambitions and choices set the foundation for the empire—and the chaos—that fans came to know across the original run.

Moore II and Mann won’t be alone. MeKai Curtis, who has been playing young Kanan Stark in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, will reprise his role in the new series. That connection threads the story back to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s portrayal of Kanan in Power and adds continuity across the ever-expanding timeline.

Behind the scenes, Power: Origins brings back key creative figures. Sascha Penn, creator of Raising Kanan, is the showrunner and executive producer, as well as co-writer of the pilot alongside Power creator Courtney A. Kemp. The show is executive-produced by Kemp through End of Episode, Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television, Mark Canton via Canton Entertainment, Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, and Pete Chatmon. Lionsgate Television is producing.

This latest addition marks the fourth spinoff in the franchise and its second prequel. It follows Power Book II: Ghost, which wrapped its four-season run in 2024; Raising Kanan, scheduled to conclude with its fifth season; and Power Book IV: Force, whose third and final season premieres November 7. Another series, Power: Legacy, is also in development.

Speaking about the new project, Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz, highlighted the demand for this story: “Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origin story since we first met them in Power—and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way.”
