NLE Choppa Accused of Abuse, Child Neglect Leading to Hos…

NLE Choppa has been accused of sexual and emotional abuse of his former partner, and of neglecting the 2-year-old child they share, in a series of court documents and social media posts by the woman.

According to court records viewed by Complex, the rapper and Marissa Da’Nae have been battling over their son ChoZen Potts since July, when NLE filed a petition in an attempt to gain primary physical custody of the child.

Da’Nae fired back last week, claiming in a response to the court that not only has the Memphis rapper “not been a consistent parent,” things were a lot worse than that.

She accused NLE of subjecting her to “emotional and physical abuse throughout their relationship and specifically throughout her pregnancy.” In addition, she alleged that during one visit with ChoZen, NLE “engaged in acts of neglect, causing the minor child to suffer medical complications and be admitted to the emergency room.”

On Sunday (Sept. 14), Da’Nae elaborated on X.

“I can’t believe this bitch is taking me to court about a child he doesn’t even call lmao,” she wrote. “I get so angry just thinking bout this shit. Bitch can’t even tell a mf when’s the last time Chozen been to the doctor or even been to a doctors appointment I tell you what. Chozen’s birthday was a month ago. This bitch has only called once.”

After an incredulous response from a follower, she followed up with a specific claim about her ex’s alleged bad parenting: “Yeah trying to take me to court for a child he barely see. A child he had fasting at 1 year old. Saying a child didn’t need to eat 3 times a day. Kids come home starving.”

In response to NLE’s petition, Da’Nae is asking the court that she continue to maintain primary physical custody of ChoZen. The case remains open, with the next hearing scheduled for October 22.
