Jennifer Lopez Gets Compared to Gwen Stefani With New Blo…

Jennifer Lopez’s latest role has her almost unrecognizable — and some fans thought they were looking at Gwen Stefani instead.
On Monday, September 15, Lopez posted a set of photos on Instagram revealing her transformation for Kiss of the Spider Woman, the Bill Condon–directed musical thriller arriving October 10. She’ll star as Aurora, and her look for the character features a platinum blonde wig pulled into a high, curled ponytail held back by a pale pink headband.
The images highlight a very different side of Lopez. In one shot, she wears a satin robe while taking a mirror selfie, showing off a beauty look that includes a sharp red lip, neutral shadow, and matching red nails. Another photo places her in a bathtub surrounded by dress sketches, hinting at the vintage-inspired glamour that will shape Aurora’s world in the 1983-set story.
Lopez captioned the set with a nod to the film’s theatrical roots: “Stepping into the role of Aurora felt like dancing through the golden age of cinema … with all the glitz, glamour, and a whole lot of dancing. Stepping back into time has never been so much fun. .”
Followers, however, were quick to draw comparisons to another music icon. “I thought this was Gwen Stefani at first!” one person commented. Others echoed the reaction with variations like “saaaame!” and “What in the Gwen Stefani is this?” Singer Natasha Bedingfield even joined in, writing, “Omg you look like @gwenstefani. Love you, sis.”
Stefani, 55, is known for her trademark platinum blonde hair and signature red lipstick — a style combination that Lopez’s new look mirrors closely. While the similarity was striking for fans scrolling through their feeds, the makeover was designed for Aurora, a character who embodies old Hollywood drama and allure.
Kiss of the Spider Woman pairs Lopez with Diego Luna, weaving music, politics, and romance into a thriller set against a turbulent moment in Latin American history, according to The New York Post.
