Coi Leray said she took Trippie Redd back after the first time they broke up because she’s “very spiritual.”
Their attempt at reconciliation ended earlier this year when she accused Trippie of cheating on her amid her pregnancy.
In a new episode of Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast, Coi opened up about reconciling with her ex in 2024, five years after they initially broke up.
“He spun the block,” Leray said of Trippie at around the 20-minute, 20-second mark of the video below. When Laboy asked what made her give Trippie another chance, she said it was because she’s “very spiritual.”
“I feel like everything happens for a reason,” she continued. “And I felt like it was one of those situations where it’s like … if it comes back, it’s always meant to be. And I thought that was the situation for sure.
She then said figuring out how to co-parent with Trippie isn’t so different from when they “met the first time, two young, talented, amazing people trying to figure it out.”
“It’s still going to be that—us young, talented, trying to figure it out, locking our future,” she said.
Leray also revealed that she thinks “all” men cheat. She added, “I think I’m at that point for sure.”
When Laboy asked if she’s just “accepting” that men are going to cheat, she said, “I’m not accepting it. That’s why I’m like, damn, I will probably be alone for the rest of my life. I’m at that point. I’m like, damn, ‘cause I’m not that type of alone girl. I don’t want to be alone. I want a family. I want to have more kids.”
Coi and Trippie’s initial relationship was brief: It began in 2019 and fizzled that year. They rekindled in August 2024, and on Jan. 1, 2025, they confirmed they were expecting their first child together.
In late January, Leray accused Trippie of cheating on her during her pregnancy.
“Nothing worst than being cheated on,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, adding that she “wouldn’t wish this pain on my worst enemy.”
Coi and Trippie welcomed their daughter Miyoco in June.
