Air Jordan 3 True Blue 2026 Release Date

Michael Jordan never wore the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” in an NBA game, but collectors don’t hold that against the original colorway. It’s considered one of the best editions of the 1988 model, behind only the “Black Cement” and “White Cement” variants that Jordan did actually play in. And in 2026, the sneaker will return to stores after a decade hiatus.
The Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” is set for its first retro since 2016, according to the trusted @zsneakerheadz. No images or even a sku have been revealed yet, but the report alone is enough to have Jordan fanatics buzzing.
When Jordan Brand last brought back the “True Blue” AJ3s nearly 10 years ago, it marked the first time the sneaker had been re-released with the original “Nike Air” branding rather than the Jumpman used on other retros. This choice has carried over to many of the most essential Air Jordan 3s and Air Jordan 4s, so there’s a good chance it happens again in 2026.
The “True Blue” 3s were first retroed in 2001, then came back in quick succession in 2009 and 2011.
While its colors didn’t match the uniforms for his Chicago Bulls, the “True Blue” Air Jordan 3s did show up on the feet of Jordan while he represented the NBA All-Stars in a 1988 exhibition game against Team USA.
Even the most popular colorway of the sneaker, “Black Cement,” was never paired with a Bulls uniform, only being played in by Jordan for the NBA All-Star Game. His go-to variants were thus the “White Cement” and “Fire Red.”
A similar treatment to the “True Blues” came on an Air Jordan 3 worn by Jordan when he was playing with the Washington Wizards, albeit with copper detailing to better match his uni.
The Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” will release during fall 2026 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $220.
