Cardi B Says Boyfriend Stefon Diggs Makes Her Feel ‘Safe’…

Cardi B says Stefon Diggs gives her the strength and security she needs as she balances new music, motherhood, and a growing family.
In a new interview aired on Wednesday (Sept. 17), the rapper spoke to Gayle King on CBS Mornings about her relationship with the NFL star and revealed that they are expecting a child together.
The news arrives just days before Cardi’s sophomore album, Am I the Drama? is set to drop amid a busy promotional rollout.
During the interview, King asked the rapper about the track “Safe” on the album and if Diggs is someone that makes her feel safe.
“Very safe. In both ways—physically, I mean, like, you see how big he is,” Cardi said with a laugh. “He just makes me feel safe and very confident and very strong. I mean, like, two weeks ago I was literally having a panic attack. I was, like, crying and crying and crying, just because I was just getting really nervous with you know, the whole album rollout.
“People were coming at me very hard. You know, sometimes people love you, people hate you. And people was just saying very mean things about me,” she added.
Cardi also said that the amount of criticism has made her avoid releasing music.
“And I’m like, see, this is why I don’t put music out, because it’s like, this is my art, and this is something that I put a lotta love and time … Sometimes, when people just rip it apart it just hurts you and it crushes you,” she told King.
However, she credits her boyfriend for her renewed sense of confidence.
“He makes me feel very confident,” the rapper said. “And it makes you feel like you could take over the world.”
While reflecting on dating following her split from Offset, with whom she shares three children, Cardi said she was hesitant at first until Diggs assured her with the words, “Let me heal you. Give me a chance for me to heal you.”
The Brimcess’ upcoming child is her fourth overall, with the baby due before she launches her Little Miss Drama arena tour in February. She also told King she held off on sharing the news until she finalized certain deals and even revealed she hadn’t told her parents prior to the interview because she was “scared of them.
“Because I’m scared of them,” she said. “I’m very scared of my parents,” she noted before revealing her parents “do like” Diggs.
“Everybody kept telling us to have fun and we had a little bit of too much fun, and now I’m here,” Cardi joked. “We had too much fun. We’re very excited. We’re very happy.”
Cardi B’s Am I the Drama? drops on Sept. 19.
