When a “JT” gets mentioned on the internet, Lil Uzi Vert doesn’t know if it’s their girlfriend, rapper JT, or Boston Celtics power forward Jayson Tatum.
The Eternal Atake 2 artist, who uses they/them pronouns, explained the confusion in a new GQ interview about their style. Towards the end of the interview, Uzi gave a shoutout to the City Girls member, and admitted that they occasionally get thrown off when Tatum is called ‘JT’ online.
“Every time I be on the internet and I see somebody say ‘JT,’ I think my girl did something. It be Jason Tatum,” Uzi joked. “Bro, I swear. I be like, Man, I need to get out my head, because I be like, bro, there’s people in this world that got they own shit.”
It’s reasonable that the “Chill Bae” artist has an obsession with JT, who they’ve dated since 2019, as the couple have discussed walking down the aisle.
In a Cosmopolitan cover story in July, JT said the couple are “definitely going to marry each other.” “That’s my best friend. That’s my dog. Uzi is such a cool person. We’ve been together since 2019, so we’ve been growing together,” she continued.
JT also detailed meeting Uzi when she was “fresh out of jail” after serving a year behind bars for fraud and said that the two “connected right away.”
“I was in a halfway house and used to talk to him so much. And when I met him, he was such a good time. It was nothing I never experienced,” she recalled.
