Cardi B Returns With Long-Awaited Sophomore Album ‘Am I t…

Cardi B’s sophomore album Am I the Drama? is finally here.

After multiple delays and false starts to the highly-anticipated follow-up to her blockbuster 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, the Brimcess is bringing all the drama in her first full-length studio album in seven years.

“Seven years of love, life and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell,” Cardi said in the album’s teaser video released in June. “I learned power is not given, it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here, the time is now.”

The 23-track set includes some familiar entries, such as the previously released “Outside” and the Jay-Z sampling “Imaginary Playerz.” Other songs, such as “Up” from 2021, and “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, are also included. Another previously teased track “Bodega Baddie,” which samples the 2003 merengue hit “Ta’ Buena” by El Prodigio, is also included in the set.

Bardi secured some major names to tap in with guest verses such as Summer Walker, Selena Gomez, Kehlani, Lizzo, Cash Cobain, Lourdiz, and Tyla.

In a rare move, Janet Jackson is lending her vocals on the track “Principal,” making it one of Jackson’s few guest appearances in recent memory.

“I feel like people are expecting something and it’s not what they expect,” Cardi told Complex’s Jordan Rose in June about the album. “Even my intro is something that people are not even going to expect from me, and a lot of songs are like that too.”

“I just felt like for a long time I got whooped with fame, relationships, everything,” she continued. “It woke me and tugged me, and people have made so much, like, assumptions about me and I feel like I never get to really pop my shit. Like, I feel like people try to humble me so much … I’ma show you that I’m not to be played with.”

After welcoming her fourth child—her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs — Cardi will hit the road in February 2026 for her her Little Miss Drama Tour, set to kick off after her due date.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
