Ex-NFL Star Shaun Alexander Expecting His 14th Child with…

Shaun Alexander has reveled that he’s gearing to expand his already-large family, with the news he and his wife are expecting another baby.
The 2005 NFL MVP dropped the baby bomb on Thursday (September 25) during his appearance on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams Show, confirming his wife, Valerie Alexander, was pregnant with their 14th child.
“So, we’re just now starting to tell people, but No. 14 is in the belly,” he said with a smile. “You’re the first one I’ve told on TV.”
Shaun and Valerie exchanged vows in 2002 and went on to welcome 10 girls and three boys: Heaven, Trinity, Eden, Joseph, Justus, Temple, Honor, Jedidiah, Eternity, Hosanna, Hope, Judea, and Torah. The latter child, who was ninth overall, died in 2017, roughly two months after she was born.
Shaun did not provide any more details about the family addition, including the baby’s sex or Valerie’s due date.
In addition to raising 13 kids, the couple also run Harvest Covenant, a private faith-based learning community for homeschooled students like their own. Shaun touched on the initiative during his chat with Kay, saying Harvest Covenant also offers sports opportunities for homeschooled kids.
“My oldest son, the fourth overall, Joseph, is a sophomore in high school,” he said. “There was no way for him to play in the public schools, at least not in Virginia or the DMV (area). So we created a homeschool co-op, and we invited all the homeschooled kids in the area to play football.
“We started Harvest Covenant, so we got great thriving families, individual academics, dynamic sports and dynamic faith. It’s all about helping people become the best version of themselves… and it just so happens that we get to play some great football.”
Shaun, who previously played for the Seattle Seahawks (2000–2007) and Washington Commanders (2008), went on to shoutout some of Harvest Covenant’s standout players. Despite the stats being impressive, all Kay could think about was Valerie’s 14th pregnancy.
“I’m listening to everything you’re saying, Shaun, but I’m stuck on… How many children?” the host asked.
“You know what? It’s really wild,” Shaun said with a laugh. “This will be number 14.”
“Phillip Rivers, get to work,” Kay said, referring to the former NFL athlete. “Philip steals headlines with 10 [kids]… We should take his Hall of Fame away and give it to you.”
