New Balance 1906L Croc Red U1906LCS Release Date
Faux croc leather has made for the most chic of New Balance‘s sneaker loafer renditions, previously appearing in black on a colorway debuted by Jaden Smith. Now, the elevated hybrid shoe is returning with an even bolder look by way of candy apple red.
The New Balance 1906L “Red Croc” is set to release in November. Glossy and textured leather make up the majority of the upper and its overlays, with the exception of the TPU heel stabilizer in a complementary hue. Allowing the faux croc to do the heavy lifting, the sole unit is rendered entirely in black.
New Balance’s influential sneaker loafer is now more than a year into its lifespan, and in the time since its debut many other brands have followed suit with their own sporty and smart hybrids. The initial release for the 1906L came in a signature “Metallic SIlver” colorway with a mix of mesh and synthetics echoing sneakers, and follow-up releases have played with more premium materials including suede and patent leather. Ganni became the shoe’s first collaborator and went full opulence with mustard snakeskin and jeweled badges.
With laceless upper and saddle, the 1906L is an offshoot of the 1906R, itself a relaunched version of the original 1906 from 2009. For its return in 2022, New Balance swapped out the sole unit with that of the 860v2.
The New Balance 1906L “Croc Red” doesn’t yet have a release date but will release some time in December through New Balance’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $170.
