Pharrell Adidas Evo SL Preloved Brown KJ8809 Release Date

Pharrell Williams and Adidas have made a lot of noise with the introduction of their Jellyfish sneaker this year, but another collaboration that may have gone under the radar was their Earth-themed duo of Evo SLs. The color application on those two sneakers was minimal, and now the two partners are back with a new iteration of the hit daily runner that should stand out more.

The Pharrell x Adidas Adizero Evo SL “Preloved Brown” sees the running shoe rendered almost entirely in its namesake color. A brown upper and sole unit give the shoe a grounded look, and pops of red come via a Humanrace-braded heel counter and the forefoot of the outsole. Oversized striping then arrives in black for a slight contrast.

After a limited release last year, the Evo SL got its wide launch this spring and has been widely praised for its versatility. It borrows some of the geometry and branding elements of the Evo Pro super shoe but forgoes the carbon fiber energy rods that race day demands. While intended for daily training, runners have also found the shoe is well suited to tempo and long runs. And with the year soon coming to a close, it looks likely to dominate “Best of” lists from running-centric publications.

Pharrell’s first Evo SL capsule stuck with blue, green and brown stripes, invoking Earth and replicating the look of his Pro Evo 1 that he wore as the final torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The rest of the upper and sole units were then rendered in either black or white.

The Jellyfish, too, has its roots in running, as it’s an exaggerated take on the Adistar Cushion 3, a model that originally released in 2000.

The Pharrell x Adidas Adizero Evo SL “Preloved Brown” is slated to release through European retailers on Saturday, and a launch through Adidas’ American channels and Pharrell’s own will likely follow soon. Pricing is set at $160.
