The Stefon Diggs x ASICS GEL-DS Trainer 14 returns with another playful spin on his growing “These are your play shoes” series. This new pair feels even louder than the first, mixing a black mesh-and-suede base with bright ’90s-style hits of yellow, purple, orange, teal, and green. The overlays almost look hand-outlined, which fits the whole childhood-energy Diggs keeps pushing with these. The left tongue tag brings back the handwritten “These are your play shoes” message that anchors the storyline.
The theme traces back to Diggs’ younger years, when his kicks always came home wrecked from playing outside—something his mom apparently reminded him of often. Now he’s flipping that memory into an actual sneaker project, which is a fun lane for a player known mostly for highlight catches and big-game moments. I like this direction for him. It gives the collab personality without trying too hard.
The GEL-DS Trainer 14 itself is a perfect canvas, especially with its retro running shape and speckled midsole. The neon green midfoot shank adds one more punch of color, giving the shoe that playful “don’t take these too seriously” vibe Diggs clearly loves.
