New Balance and JJJJound are going back to basics with the upcoming New Balance 990v4 “Mushroom.” The shoe leans into a rich earthy palette, pairing brown suede with deeper brown underlays and soft off-white laces that highlight the subtle updates of the v4 build.

This release is also unique because it’s being offered through a preorder instead of a standard launch. While the internal reasoning isn’t publicly shared, the preorder format likely helps the team determine accurate production numbers ahead of the Fall 2026 delivery. That approach could make this one of the more accessible entries in the collaboration’s lineup.

Pricing has not been announced, but preorders open December 12th at 9 AM EST, and the landing page is already live for anyone wanting early details.
