Channel Your Inner Frog With Esenes Worldwide’s Upcoming Clog

Amphibian lovers, rise up. Esenes Worldwide is dropping a fresh nature-inspired footwear style, the Frog Clog, on Friday.

With the Frog Clog, the streetwear brand is maintaining the unconventional design language it’s known for. Debuted at New York Fashion Week (the brand’s NYFW debut), the shoes are crafted from premium pebbled leather in a bold neon green colorway. The frog’s look is further realized with two custom-made golden glass eyes embedded at the toes, adding a lifelike dimension to the set.

But it doesn’t end there — the gray rubber outsole taps into the amphibious aura as well, fusing nature-influenced aesthetics with technical functionality. The outsole features a ribbed, sculptural design and X-terrain no-slip grip pads for extra traction. And in an ultra-subtle touch, the custom sole has translucent green frog embryos embedded in it.

Esenes Worldwide founder Justin Son exclusively told FN, “I always thought sleeping tree frogs had a footwear-like shape to them, and I wanted to bring that imagination to life. I took the popularized slipper/clog style you see coming from gorpcore brands and put my signature S&S twist on it, reimagining the silhouette as a tropical frog. I often design from a place of nostalgia to guide the process and spark the imagination that drives my creative mind today.”

A unisex style, the Frog Clog will be dropped in limited quantities and offered in sizes M4/W6 through M14/W12. It can be shopped beginning at 2 p.m. ET on Friday; customers can obtain a pair at esenesworldwide.com.

Esenes Worldwide is familiar with the realm of quirky shoes. The label, founded by Son in 2021, has also created furry mules decorated with eyeballs of different colors, Tabi boots and more unique shoes.

The Frog Clog wouldn’t be the first frog shoe to hit the market. In October, Cruz Beckham stepped out during Paris Fashion Week wearing frog loafers from JW Anderson, a style made in collaboration with Wellipets that debuted as part of JW Anderson’s fall 2023 menswear show. In another representation of the amphibious creature, Gap released a collection in partnership with Muppets earlier this year, which incorporated the beloved character Kermit the Frog.
