Drake Calls Out ‘Unsolicited Advice From Rappers We Loved…

Drake is lamenting “unsolicited advice” from unspecified rap artists “we loved in 2005” in his latest act of Instagrammery.

In an IG update on Monday, Sept. 22, the Iceman artist, whose latest tour concludes with a show in Hamburg on Tuesday, shared a video of himself singing along to the late Whitney Houston’s 1992 The Bodyguard hit “I Have Nothing.” Also included were two clips from recent live performances, including one of Drake performing his part from Travis Scott’s Astroworld track “Sicko Mode.”

“Oh nice…more unsolicited advice from rappers we loved in 2005,” Drake captioned the post, as seen here.

While it wasn’t immediately clear who, exactly, Drake was referencing with the caption, some have been quick to speculate that this could be an indirect response to recent remarks from Memphis Bleek, who released his 534 album in May 2005.

In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe for the Club Shay Shay podcast, Bleek shared his thoughts on “how to win a war” while speaking about Drake’s moves in his feud with Kendrick Lamar. Bleek also told Sharpe he was “surprised” by Drake ultimately taking legal action against UMG.

“I don’t see a winner in this,” Bleek said, adding that he would “never” take someone to court in a similar fashion.

With Drake’s current tour soon to be in the rear view, fans are awaiting more word on Iceman, a new album expected to arrive before year’s end. This month, fans were given a new song, “Dog House,” featuring Julia Wolf and Yeat. Listen here, then learn more about Wolf’s rise ahead of her opening slot on mgk‘s upcoming Lost Americana Tour with Wiz Khalifa.
