Drake on Being Arrested in Sweden Over ‘Nothing,’ Spendin…

Drake is looking back on an “aggressive” Sweden arrest, telling Bobbi Althoff in their just-released, amends-making Not This Again interview that he was taken in over “nothing.”

At one point in the conversation, Drake was asked whether he’d ever spent time in jail.

“I got arrested in Sweden,” he said. “I actually have a show coming up there. I feel like they’re gonna try and run it back.”

Deeper into the inaugural episode of Althoff’s new podcast, the topic was broached again, this time in greater detail.

“I don’t know if they will,” he said when the host noted that Swedish forgiveness was likely on the table. “I spent a pretty long time in jail, nine hours.”

Asked if the experience was “fun,” Drake confirmed it wasn’t.

“No, no,” he said. “Because I got arrested for nothing. Apparently, like, well, we did a private party and one of the guys, the officers, his girl came to the private party. But they arrested me way too aggressive and they arrested me for nothing.”

Perhaps jokingly, Drake added that he was hoping to have the unidentified woman in question return for a future show.

“Oh yeah, his girl’s coming back out for sure,” he said, albeit only if he “can find her.”

Drake didn’t specific when, exactly, the arrest occurred, saying only that it happened “like three years ago.” As you’ll recall, news coverage of a Drake-focused Sweden incident back in 2022 initially included claims of the arrest, later referred to as a mere detainment, being connected to weed.

At the time, a Drake rep was cited by the Hollywood Reporter as denying that an arrest had occurred. Drake later rapped about the self-imposed Carby Musk scent of a “Swedish jail cell” on the Her Loss track “Middle of the Ocean,” followed by the Iceman artist sharing video of him appearing to be taken in by Swedish authorities.
