Former ’19 Kids and Counting’ Alum Expecting First Baby

Jana Duggar, formerly of 19 Kids and Counting fame, has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. Duggar, 35, shared the news on Instagram on Monday, August 18.
The Counting On alum posted a carousel of three photos from a maternity shoot with husband Stephen Wissmann, 32. Duggar had captioned the joint Instagram post with, “We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family! We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!”
Duggar and Wissmann, who got married in August 2024, had fans speculating over a potential pregnancy the last few months. Now that the pair has made their news official, fans haven’t wasted any time flooding the comments section with well-wishes.
“Yay! Actual tears I am so happy for you. I think this is my favourite Duggar pregnancy announcement ever,” said one person. Another commenter wrote, “I feel like there’s no one on this earth more deserving to be a parent!” Someone else said, “I’m so happy for Jana. She waited for the right Prince to marry and now bout to be a a wonderful mom ever.”
Duggar is best known as the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, featured on the reality series 19 Kids and Counting from 2008–2015, and Counting On from 2015 until 2021. 19 Kids and Counting followed the Duggar family as they navigated life while living by fundamentalist Christian values, such as leaving the size of their family “up to God” by avoiding contraception.
In recent years, the Duggar family has come under public criticism, largely due to legal troubles involving their eldest son, Josh Duggar, who was found guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography.
Despite the family’s turbulent past, mom-to-be Duggar has chosen a quiet life forward: she is currently living in Nebraska with husband Wissmann where they have been documenting home renovations and vlogs on her YouTube channel.
