Halsey Announces ‘Badlands’ Favorites Getting Videos 10 Y…

Long before Halsey was a mainstay in pop and alternative music, she was an independent artist with a cult following. During the days of her 2014 EP Room 93 and her 2015 debut album Badlands, she garnered an online fanbase, notably with songs like “Gasoline” and “Drive.” Right on time for Badlands’ 10th anniversary, Halsey has teased a special gift for day-one fans.

Ahead of the anniversary, Halsey took to Instagram to reveal that “Gasoline” and “Drive” are finally getting music videos.

The teaser sees Halsey in the blue wig that she famously made part of the album’s aesthetic. In clips, Halsey is seen driving through a lit-up city in a pink car, sitting in a room with Tyler Posey admiring vinyl records and an old camera, and making an escape from some sort of laboratory setting. In the post’s caption, Halsey teases that this “double feature” is “coming soon.”

Needless to say, her core fans were freaking out in the comments.

“waited 10 years for this,” wrote one fan.

“She’s giving us everything this year OMG,” wrote another.

In addition to these videos, Halsey will release a special edition of Badlands called the Decade Edition Anthology on August 29 — 10 years and a day after the release of the original Badlands. The anniversary edition will contain orchestral arrangements of the songs, as well as previously unreleased demos and remixes.

In addition to these visuals, fans can also look forward to seeing Halsey in Americana in which she co-stars with Sydney Sweeney.

“This film represents such a memorable time in my life,” Halsey wrote on Instagram. “I signed on before I got pregnant. Filmed it with a 6 month old baby (still nursing!)…A whirlwind to say the least. I made so many friends and learned so many things. It was a world of firsts for me and I am so proud.”

Americana is currently playing in theaters.
