Joe Freshgoods New Balance Abzorb 2010 Release Date

Joe Freshgoods is going cozy and well-worn for his next collaboration with New Balance.

The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance Abzorb 2010 “Hand-Me-Downs” and “Bag Lady” feature uppers that look like old, patterned couches. Both colorways feature overlays that appear to be made out of bouclé or chenille and feature rough edges. Fuzzy laces continue the theme, and the midsole on the lighter version looks as if it’s been yellowed with age.

In an Instagram post revealing the two sneakers, the designer said: “I wanted this project to represent the current bag I’m in, handled with care, stitched with love. Protected with cozy. Minimal branding.”

The Abzorb 2010 is one of New Balance’s latest models, having just launched this year despite carrying the overt sensibilities of retro runners. Its upper draws from the 99X series, while the sole offers a modern experience with dual-density Abzorb cushioning at the heel, a mid-foot Stability Web and SBS gel pods. More futuristic than retro is the Abzorb 2000, which also debuted this year.

Early in its lifespan, the Abzorb 2010 has featured in collaborations with Kith and Wtaps.

Joe Freshgoods most recently linked with New Balance for the 992 “Aged Well.” He’s also been teasing an Abzorb 2000 with a similar pink palette.

No release details have been revealed for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance Abzorb 2010 “Hand-Me-Downs” and “Bag Lady,” although some are speculating they’ll release at ComplexCon because of the designer’s confirmed attendance.
