Katt Williams Suggests He’s Done With Podcasts Post Shann…

Katt Williams might be ready to walk away from the podcast spotlight after the impact of his infamous Club Shay Shay interview with Shannon Sharpe.

In a recent appearance on Sherri, the comedian was asked about his now-legendary interview which racked up over 90 million views on YouTube and earned a Webby Awards. Williams had since gone on to make several high-profile appearances on podcasts hosted by Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and Carmelo Anthony.

When asked by host Sherri Shepherd if it was “important” for Williams to appear on podcasts, Williams answered, “No, ma’am, not precisely because I’m not a fan of my voice. Like, I don’t like to hear myself talk but because of the Shannon Sharp thing, I decided that I was only gonna speak maybe six more times and let that speak for me for the duration.

“I was able to pick wonderful people to go and talk to—and their fan bases are our fan base, and it’s just such a great time to be an American and to enjoy freedom of speech and to be able to have that as your livelihood.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Shepherd asked Williams his thoughts on being called an “oracle,” a “wizard,” and if he ever thought he would “be like a meme that just symbolizes truth?”

“I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, so I want everything that comes along with that even if it’s not good,” he answered. “Like, this is kind of what I signed up for. That particular interview was certainly a blessing that I was even able to be involved.”

Originally aired in January 2024, Williams’ Club Shay Shay sit-down included criticism of numerous high-profile figures like Kanye West, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Diddy, Jonathan Majors, and Tyler Perry.

“I came in this business saying I was going to expose,” Williams said at the time. “When I talked about Michael Jackson, when I talked about R. Kelly, they canceled me for these things because why would you talk about another Black dude?

“Race is not where the line is drawn. It’s God’s side and the other side, and we don’t care nothing about the other side, period. All of these big dick deviants is all catching hell in 2024. It’s up for all of them, it don’t matter if you Diddy or whoever you is.” Williams added, “All lies will be exposed.”
