Nike has paid tribute to Kobe Bryant once again, this time with the Air Force 1. The new release sees the silhouette reimagined in a Triple Black colorway that further taps into Bryant’s “Black Mamba” persona. The sneaker features a series of details to enhance that theme.
This is one of four colorways that pay tribute to Bryant, along with the “White”, “Purple” and “Cargo Khaki” variations. Built on top of the Air Force 1 Low ’07, the new sneaker retains that lifestyle element and is not updated with any performance elements. The upper features a faux snakeskin texture, alluding to the serpent that was the source of Bryant’s “Black Mamba” moniker, and his signature sheath logo can be found embroidered on the tongue. The silhouette’s heel tab highlights his iconic Lakers jersey numbers 8 and 24.
The Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Low “Triple Black” sneaker makes a point of not being too flashy while also doubling down on Bryant’s mamba persona. It does so by sporting snakeskin patterns across the upper and remaining all-black, while including more understated references to Kobe, making it a sneaker that can be worn in more casual settings. It also has the added appeal of feeling like a special edition that collectors and fans will want to add to their collections.
