Mario and Girlfriend Esmerelda Rios Expecting Their First…
Mario has revealed that he’s going to be a father for the first time — and the singer said he can’t wait for his kid to arrive.
On Wednesday (August 27), the “Let Me Love You” singer took to his Instagram Story to show off his girlfriend, Esmerelda Rios’ baby bump. While her face isn’t shown, she’s seen wearing a neon pink set.
“It’s a whole universe in there!” Mario captioned the image. “I can’t wait.”
Rios appears to have made her IG account private since the announcement. There are no photos of her on any of Mario’s social media accounts, though screenshots of Rios’ account shared by X user @KiOnDaRockz show her baby bump being kissed by the singer. Capital Xtra shared the same images.
Last June, fans became upset when Mario posted Rios to his Story, soundtracked by Lauryn Hill’s song “The Sweetest Thing,” with some accusing him of only dating white women.
“I like good energy and who loves me the way that’s healthy,” he wrote in an IG DM, responding to someone who called him out for his choice in women. “Could be black, white, Mexican, alien… I dated a alien before it was was [sic] great.”
In December, he addressed his relationship during a conversation with Angela Yee, calling Rios his “safe place.”
“She’s a good person, I trust her,” he said, revealing that Rios is Mexican.
It’s unclear how long the couple have been dating. Mario previously reflected on parenthood with V-103 Atlanta in 2023.
“I don’t take having kids lightly,” he said, (per People). “Everybody I know [has] kids. Some of my friends [that are] younger have kids, some of my friends [that are] older have kids, and it comes with a lot of pros and cons. And I also grew up without a father. So, I want to do it right when I do do it. You know, I got time. So, I’m not rushing into that.”
