Mark Sanchez Has 2 Kids With Wife Perry, Twin Daughters B…
Only four days before her husband, Mark Sanchez, was stabbed in Indianapolis, his wife, Perry Mattfeld, discussed their new twin daughters in an interview.
She revealed to Glamour that the couple had twin daughters in March.
The former USC cheerleader told Glamour, “We dated for a while even though we were always kind of apart because I was filming In the Dark in Toronto for four years, and he was still playing. It only took six years to get engaged. And then we’ve been married for about two years and had twins in March.”
In February, Mattfeld posted a photo to her Instagram page showing her heavily pregnant and leaning against a palm tree. “Biggest surprise yet !! #twinmom,” she wrote with that post.
Mattfeld told Glamour that she met Sanchez “when I was doing Shameless. We were filming in Chicago, and he was playing with the Bears at the time, so he was living in Chicago. But we both went to USC, both actually born at the same hospital, both Hispanic, a lot of weird things. He fell in love with me immediately. I’m just kidding.”
In addition to his kids with Mattfeld, Sanchez also has a son named Daniel who served as a groomsman in his 2023 wedding to the actress, which took place in Mexico, according to People. She has posted photos on Instagram showing the three of them together.
“He got a standing ovation as he brought our rings down the aisle, and then took his place next to Mark during the ceremony,” Mattfeld told People of Daniel. “It was so special to be able to read our vows with him beside us.”
In 2023, Mattfeld posted a photo showing her with Sanchez and a young boy and wrote, “birthday boy, dada, lover “
The circumstances of the stabbing are somewhat mysterious.
Indianapolis police wrote in a statement in the stabbing incident that they are “investigating a physical disturbance that happened near Senate Avenue and West Washington Street on October 4, 2025. The incident involved two adult males, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds. Detectives believe this was an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence.”
Although the statement does not name Sanchez, police sent Complex the statement after being asked for comment on the Sanchez incident.
Both were identified, police wrote. “Aggravated Assault detectives are continuing the investigation and have reviewed video footage of the incident. Both men received medical treatment. The man with the apparent stab wounds remains hospitalized in stable condition. The case will be presented to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.”
