Mark Sanchez Stabbed in Indianapolis, Has ‘Critical Injur…
Mark Sanchez, the Fox NFL analyst who was a quarterback in the National Football League, has been stabbed in Indianapolis, Indiana.
That’s according to TMZ, which broke the news of the stabbing on October 4, 2025.
According to TMZ’s report, Sanchez was stabbed in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 4, in Indianapolis. TMZ indicated that Sanchez’s condition is serious, writing that he is “currently in the hospital with critical injuries.”
According to TMZ, police in Indiana received a call around 12:30 a.m. on the morning of October 4 “to a street in downtown Indianapolis for two injured people … and one of the people was the former first-round draft pick.” The identity of the other person is not yet clear.
Sanchez “was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition,” TMZ reported. It’s not clear what led up to the stabbing incident or whether there are any suspects in the crime.
According to Sports Media Watch, Sanchez “is in Indianapolis to cover Sunday’s Raiders-Colts game on FOX.”
Sanchez, who has been a Fox NFL analyst since 2021, was “set to call Sunday’s game alongside play-by-play voice Chris Myers and sideline reporter Kristina Pink,” that site reported.
Sanchez was drafted by the New York Jets. He was also a well-known college football player for USC, and he was a fifth-round draft pick in 2009. He also has worked for ESPN and ABC. Sanchez describes himself as a father, husband, NFL broadcaster and analyst on Instagram.
Sanchez posted on his Instagram page just hours before the stabbing took place, although it’s not clear whether the post was scheduled in advance.
