Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Release Date

The return of the Nike Air Max 95 Neon with a Big Bubble treatment rendering its Air bag more true to original proportions kicked off a massive year for the 30-year-old sneaker. Numerous other releases for the classic model have followed since the spring, and as the year comes to a close, Neon will rear its head again in a slightly different form.

The Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Neon plays it close to the iconic colorway but with a lighter, streamlined construction. A few different builds have been used for the model over the years, and this one features a thinner synthetic and mesh upper with thin cord eyelets visible beneath its upper layer. The sole, too, is thinner, and there are a few different changes in the application of colors.

Black placements are dialed down, as the toe tip and mesh base are now rendered in gray. The gradient of grays used for the wavy stripes is also rendered lighter, but the Neon green appearances remain the same, save for a small shift on the tongue tag.

Nike first introduced the Air Max Ultra in 2015, the original model’s 20th anniversary, and variants have included an Ultra Jacquard with cord appearing atop a knit upper and an Ultra Essential with standard eylets.

The Neon colorway was used to introduce the Air Max 95 to the world in 1995, and a Reverse Neon colorway pulled from designer Sergio Lozano’s sketches was used for a release limited to the Museum of Modern Art in April.

The Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Neon will release during the upcoming holiday season, likely through Nike’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $170.
