Nike Sportswear is injecting a futuristic vibe into the Shox line with a new women’s exclusive Nike Shox Z “Black Iridescent” edition.
Performance-first aesthetic has always been a Y2K flavor of Shox culture, and this iteration absolutely slides that futuristic ethos forward. The upper on this shoe is entirely in black, allowing all of that oil-slick iridescent detailing to pop on the Swoosh and heel plate. The coloring on this finish is what will catch the detail heads’ eyes right away.
Of course, the twin Shox columns are back on this one to echo a time when cushioning technology was designed to look aggressive, not just be aggressive. It stays understated on this one, but not unexciting — this pair definitely has a flex appeal to it.
