‘RHONY’ Star Racquel Chevremont Sues Ex for $10M

Real Housewives of New York City star Racquel Chevremont has filed a $10 million lawsuit against her ex-fiancée, acclaimed artist Mickalene Thomas, alleging years of harassment, exploitation, and financial misconduct.

According to court filings obtained by Page Six, Chevremont accuses Thomas of a decade-long pattern of “exploitation, nonpayment and unlawful conduct” from 2012 to 2022.

The reality star, who is also a model and art curator, claims she was underpaid both as an employee and through a 2021 business agreement, despite negotiating multimillion-dollar deals on Thomas’ behalf.

Chevremont further alleges that Thomas diverted funds and business opportunities from their joint venture, Deux Femmes Noires, into her personal company, MT LLC. The pair launched the collective in 2018 to champion women, queer artists, and artists of color.

The lawsuit also details claims of sexual harassment and a hostile workplace environment. Chevremont states that after their 2020 breakup, the two continued to collaborate.

She alleges Thomas pressured her to restart their romantic relationship and, when she refused, retaliated by terminating her. “Ms. Chevremont was subjected to a hostile and abusive work environment,” the documents state.

The couple’s relationship spanned nearly a decade. They first met in 2002 when Chevremont was at the Studio Museum in Harlem and Thomas was an artist in residence.

They reconnected in Paris in 2011, while Thomas was working at Monet’s estate in Giverny. Both were married at the time. By 2019, Thomas had proposed, and the pair became engaged. However, they split in 2020 shortly after co-curating a major show at the Parrish Art Museum in the Hamptons.

Chevremont officially joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City for season 15. She is now engaged to Mel Corpus, a forensic neuropsychologist.

Reps for both parties have not yet commented publicly on the lawsuit. Chevremont is seeking $10 million in damages, along with attorneys’ fees and court costs.
