Teen’s Mom Says Daughter’s Boyf…

New details have emerged as authorities continue to investigate the discovery of human remains inside a towed Tesla registered to d4vd.
Wednesday, Sept. 17, TMZ ran a report saying they had spoken with the mother of missing teen Celeste Rivas. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office lists the date of death for Rivas, 15, as Sept. 8. That’s the same date given by the Los Angeles Police Department in a previous statement to Complex confirming that officers responded to a tow yard “for a foul odor coming from a vehicle.” At the time, police were treating the case as a death investigation.
Now, TMZ, not long after the publication received a tip about a girl reported missing in April of last year, says the teen’s mother told them she believed the remains “might be her daughter.” Though not directly quoted in the piece, the mother is also said to have noted that physical descriptions previously provided by authorities, including the presence of a “Shhh” tattoo, lined up.
Furthermore, the report cites the mother as saying that her daughter had a boyfriend named David, though additional details were not immediately provided. D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, has been on tour since early August and is currently scheduled to perform in San Francisco on Sept. 19, followed by the conclusion of the tour’s North America leg in Los Angeles on Sept. 20.
“The decedent was found severely decomposed inside a vehicle on 9/8/2025,” reads the medical examiner’s previous statement, released prior to identification. “She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found. We are unable to determine her age or race/ethnicity. The decedent was wearing a tube top and black leggings (size small). She has wavy black hair. Jewelry includes yellow metal stud earring and w yellow metal chain bracelet.”
Complex has reached out to LAPD reps for comment, as well as to the commanding officer of the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.
Previously, a rep for d4vd was quoted as saying the Withered artist was “fully cooperating” with the investigation. At this time, a cause of death has not been publicly confirmed. Previous reports, however, claimed the body had been dismembered.
Complex has also reached out to d4vd’s legal reps. This story may be updated.
As for the “Shhh” tattoo, another report, also from TMZ, claims d4vd has a similar tattoo on his right finger.
